- What is the total projected ready-to-operate cost of the proposed, new 22,000 square foot Justice Center including parking and other project associated expenditures?
Response
- What are the estimated, annual operating expenses for this facility? Please include all expenses not currently being paid as the structure does not now exist. Gas, electric, insurance, maintenance and repairs, new city/court employees, etc. Be realistic and thorough.
Response
- To date, how much as the City of Marietta already spent on this project including those monies spent for the proposed parking lots?
Response
- How can City Council justify a long-term multimillion dollar expenditure of this sort in the face of declining population, decreasing city tax revenues and declining Municipal Court receipts?
Response
- Since its inception, The Court's Capital Improvement Account, funded by "user fees" has averaged $160,000 in collections per year. A $4,000,000 loan at a 5% fixed rate for 30-years carries an annual payment of $260,206.74. Who will pay the almost $100,000 difference?
Response
- How much as the city of Marietta had to supplement the Court's revenues to meet their annual expenditures?
Response
- What statutes control and set the City of Marietta's responsibility toward the Municipal Court and the regulation of its budget?
Response

Response
- How will the City of Marietta fund the following in lieu of the $4,000,000 for the Hall of Justice?
- Police and Fire Substation near interstate?
- New Recreation Center?
- Badly needed street and alley repairs and replacements?
- Parking issues?
- Plus many others in the planning stages?
Response
- If the answers to the above questions demonstrate that we cannot afford this 30-year multimillion dollar project, why would we pay someone $400,000 to confirm what the actual project cost is going to be?
